Basic Keel Boat 101 Certificate
No prerequisite
A beginner course in keel boat sailing designed to get you familiar with basic sailing terms, parts of the boat, basic sailing maneuvers, rules of the road and boat safety.
This course has two parts: on the water and theory. These parts are offered separately. To become certified, you must complete both parts. To learn sailing basics you need only the ‘on the water’.
The certificate requires a written exam and minimal sailing proficiency.
Basic Keelboat (ASA 101)
Basic Coastal Cruising 103 Certificate
Prerequisite: Basic Keel Boat Sailing Certificate.
The intermediate level takes you from novice to cruising safely in local and regional waters as both skipper and crew. You will gain experience in preparing the boat for heavy weather, anchoring, and fine tuning your sail trimming skills. You will add skills in docking and motoring. There is both an ‘on the water’ component and theory component.
The certificate requires a written exam and minimal sailing proficiency.
Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103)
