Sailing Classes & Clinics Off and On-the-Water

Sailing clinics are one-day non-certified classes of special interest.

Docking, Berthing, & Anchoring –

You will have the opportunity to dock a boat in a variety of situations and types of docks and berths. Also what lines to tie first and determining the best approach for docking and leaving the dock. You will also learn proper anchoring procedures.

Heavy weather preparation & Emergency boat handling –

Learn how to reef the main by yourself. You will learn what to do first in the event of things like going aground, leaks in the boat, dragging anchor, steering failure, etc.

Maintenance procedures –

Learn the standard process for performing the annual maintenance on your boat.

Navigation –

Learn to plan routes, determine your ETA with alternative plans in the event of emergencies. Learn how to program and use a GPS. Know how to do dead reckoning, 3-point fixes, set and drift etc. Includes: Rules of the Road - Know all your rules, lights, sounds and lateral aids to navigation.
